Odesa region, Izmail district: this is not an ordinary checkpoint but a ferry crossing over the Danube to Isaccea in Romania. Cars, coaches and pedestrians reach the far bank by vessel, and that alone makes Orlivka unlike every other crossing on our list.

If the ferry is not running for any reason, the overland alternative for this direction is Reni, crossing into Giurgiulești.
