What kind of crossing this is

Lviv region, the Sokal direction on the boundary with Volyn; on the Polish side lie Dołhobyczów and the road to Hrubieszów. It is one of the newest posts on the Polish border, open to cars and coaches, and designed precisely to relieve its overloaded neighbours.

On weekdays Uhryniv performs that role well: midweek is among the calmest on the border. But Friday breaks the pattern completely — the morning peak that day is sharper than at most crossings, and the queue builds before lunchtime. In other words, "new and clear" holds for four days out of seven, and on the fifth the crossing becomes one of the heaviest on the whole direction.

So Uhryniv is best treated as conditionally fast rather than reliably fast. On Wednesday and Thursday it almost always beats Rava-Ruska and Ustyluh. On Friday the decision has to be made on the live queue — and preferably before eight in the morning, because after that the line is already there. For anyone setting out from Volyn, Ustyluh often remains the better option at peak hours despite its high baseline.
